A faithful spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie with plenty of variety, satisfying ability collection through quills, and a clever world-expansion mechanic, though it inherits the genre's old flaws. Touchy, slippery controls badly undermine the platforming, the camera is jittery and unreliable, and combat is shallow and underdeveloped. Charming and enjoyable in spurts for nostalgic fans, but too rough and unrefined to recommend broadly.
Our analysis
Worthy modern tribute to collectathons with polished Switch improvements and great soundtrack; minor camera and pacing issues hold it back.
Our analysis
ZP: inconsistent platformer; rules change arbitrarily; overly complex final boss.
Our analysis
Solid 3D platformer with comfort-food gameplay; camera frustrations and uneven world quality fall short of hype.
