An artistically stunning, memorable, and terrifying remake whose world and character designs are remarkable, with many welcome gameplay additions. However, by offering more combat choice and power, especially through the camera's filters and the overpowered radiant filter, it bends to modern conveniences that make its horror feel more artificial and less intimate. The result is still a great game, but a slightly diluted version of the original.
