One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4

A massive and satisfying musou title where each of the 40-plus characters plays distinctly, with visceral, destructive combat that excels in co-op and a story mode that covers the series well through great-looking cutscenes. The visuals are the weakest on any console, with an uncapped frame rate that swings between 30 and 60, poor draw distance, and no anti-aliasing, and the price plus DLC is steep. Still a whole lot of fun, especially for fans.

A spectacle-driven musou from Omega Force that nails each character's personality through attack animations even though they do not feel mechanically different, with combos upgraded via character-specific skill trees. Combat is fun but rarely challenging, enemies are reluctant and shielded foes just take longer, and multiplayer adds little. The presentation looks great with an excellent Japanese voice cast, making it a fine way for fans to relive the story without watching 900-plus episodes.
