Stylish paranormal action with great voice acting but short story and banal side missions.
Our analysis
Mack quit Ghostwire: Tokyo after 10+ hours. He calls it a bad console port with hard-coded mouse acceleration and dated visuals, a story that makes no sense, trivially easy combat built on three elemental powers, and a lifeless, samey city full of silly side quests. Not worth a buy.
Our analysis
Simple but satisfying combat becomes repetitive due to limited enemy types, though side quests offer great narrative.
Our analysis
Creative and visually striking but uneven execution; feels good but not excellent.

at the end of the day i would say buy it on sale because while it is a cool game it stumbles in a lot of places and as someone who paid 60 dollars for it i don't feel good about having paid 60 for this i would wait for it to be on sale for like 30 or 40 before i even considered touching itOriginal · English
in conclusion ghostwire Tokyo is a thoughtful and unique experience however an unremarkable combat system and the bane of repetition without elevation hold this title back from being something truly greatOriginal · English
I enjoyed my 20 or so hours with ghostwire Tokyo largely because I found its world so immersive the attention to detail in the city itself is hugely impressive whether it's looking to recreate the surroundings of the best known Crossing in the world or bringing life to a dank back alley this is an environment I loved being inAbout

A fascinating game with one of the most interesting stories and stunning visuals, but hampered by an unfulfilling combat system that lacks depth and fails to engage the player.

The creator is disappointed that Ghostwire had all the pieces for something classic but became a safe, by-the-numbers open world game with a five-hour campaign that struggles to justify its massive world full of collectibles. While it has atmospheric appeal and unique mechanics, the execution falls short of its potential.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is an awesome action-adventure game from Tango Gameworks that blends engaging combat mechanics with stunning exploration of Tokyo. Despite some early difficulty imbalance and repetitive side content, the game delivers on its unique vision with excellent visual design, meaningful storytelling, and deep Japanese cultural immersion.

A unique Japanese horror fantasy with an impressively detailed Tokyo open world, but falls short of being a masterpiece due to monotonous action gameplay, underdeveloped story pacing, and underutilized horror elements. The creator recommends it for PS5 owners interested in horror and Japanese culture, despite its shortcomings.
