Framed as a comedic look at life with someone playing it, this lands as the most consistently entertaining backseat-gaming experience around. Los Santos is a riotous playground where absurd physics, emergent chaos, and ruthless satire make even aimless roaming funnier than the missions, though the heavy reliance on driving to and from mission markers drags, and the disgusting, offensive, violent tone won't be for everyone.
Our analysis
A clear buy that is stunning and a real step above its predecessor, with excellent lighting, a densely packed world, improved gunplay, and satisfying heists. Character switching and new mini-games like golf add variety, but it is held back by painfully scripted chase missions, a disjointed and underwhelming story, and relentlessly grating, profanity-heavy dialogue from some characters.
Our analysis
A competent next-gen rerelease that adds higher resolution, better frame rates, ray-traced lighting, faster load times, and DualSense touches, but is a port rather than a remake. The story-driven world of Los Santos and its three-character structure remain ambitious and well-realized, though it shows its 2013 age. Worth the upgrade price for returning console players, but the full asking price is harder to justify.
Our analysis
An ambitious but uninspired mess with functional mechanics and color but no defining moments or genuine excitement.
Our analysis
A technical masterpiece with fantastic gameplay, mission variety, and dynamic storytelling across three compelling protagonists. Angry Joe rates it 9/10 for single-player and calls it a must-own, with likely upgrade to 10/10 when the online component launches.

Worth A Buy👍 positive

Mack gives an enthusiastic endorsement of the PC port, praising the living world, freedom to do whatever you want, good story, and massive amount of content. Despite some scripted mission bugs, he concludes it's absolutely worth buying because it's so much fun and immersive.

GTA V mostly still holds up as an impressive achievement that kept Rockstar afloat, though the overly scripted missions, sluggish controls, and loss of freedom compared to earlier entries show its age.
