A worthy sequel that swaps Zagreus for Melinoe, leaning more into strategic spellcasting and a deeper boon-synergy system, and concluding her story against Kronos. Combat is slick and responsive at 120fps with enormous replayability, though the flow sometimes feels more stunted than the original and the Switch One version suffers from a blurry 720p docked resolution. The presentation, art, and Darren Korb soundtrack are outstanding.

A masterfully crafted sequel that improves on its predecessor in nearly every way, with deeper, more satisfying combat anchored by Melinoë's new Omega attacks and a magic resource system. The larger world, branching routes, gripping story, and flexible Arcana card progression make it one of the best roguelites available even in early access. Its only real gaps are a still-missing ending and a few placeholders that will be filled before the 1.0 launch.

A major step up from the first game that polishes every aspect—art, music, and gameplay. The roguelike loop is addictive, the difficulty is well-balanced, and the content is abundant.

Super Giant Games successfully delivers a sequel that perfectly combines addictive roguelike gameplay with an engaging story and intriguing characters. While the tonal shift from intimate family drama to epic god warfare may divide some fans, the expanded systems, refined mechanics, and excellent presentation make it a must-play for fans of the original and newcomers alike.
