Supergiant's follow-up to Bastion is a special, highly recommended game that improves on its predecessor's formula within a striking sci-fi setting. The combat brilliantly fuses real-time action with a freeze-time turn-based planning mode, supported by abundant ability combinations and an optional limiter system for added challenge. The hand-painted visuals are stunning, the present-tense narration and soundtrack are outstanding, and only occasional enemy-swarm difficulty spikes mar the experience. Short but well worth playing.

A Supergiant Games follow-up to Bastion with ambitious ideas and an interesting narrative presentation, but marred by overly cryptic storytelling, a complex combat system that takes significant time to appreciate, and pacing issues that required the reviewer to force themselves through the opening hour.
