Our analysis

A charmingly stupid superhero fighter that reskins the Mortal Kombat X framework with DC characters rather than building anything new, recycling the same banter scripts, camera angles, and animations. The realistic art style sits in the uncanny valley and the new gear-drop loot-box system adds little, mostly swapping cosmetics that barely change a character's look. Enjoyable as a goofy character showcase, but shallow and derivative.

Our analysis

A standout entry in the genre, with NetherRealm delivering its trademark cinematic single-player campaign alongside a deep, customizable fighting system. The massive roster, RPG-style gear and loot drops, and wealth of modes provide enormous value, though a frustrating default gear setting in unranked play and an abrupt good ending hold it back slightly.

Our analysis

A stronger game than its predecessor, pairing a solid, epic single-player campaign with refreshed fighting mechanics and a deep gear and leveling system. The Multiverse mode adds lasting content and there's far more here than the average fighting game, though loot-box grinding and microtransactions are worth keeping in mind. Easily recommended for DC and fighting fans.
