The realm-shifting mechanic and inventive combat still hold up beautifully decades on, with the first game's environment-driven kills feeling more unique than the more straightforward sequel. Minor texture and geometry popping are the main blemishes in an otherwise strong package.

One of the most impressive remasters of these beloved 25-year-old games, running at a steady 60fps with greatly improved resolution, lighting, models, and cutscenes while preserving the originals via a toggle. Quality-of-life additions like a full map, compass, sky boxes, and a wealth of bonus materials including recreated cut content add real value. A few misaligned textures and a slightly buggy skybox are minor issues against an excellent, respectful package.
