3 of 3A satisfying isometric team-building brawler with chaotic, impactful combat, a roster of 35+ characters, and surprisingly deep team-building and upgrade systems that reward experimentation. The story improves as it branches out and is better than the prior two games, backed by good voice, great music, and solid sound. Presentation is its weak point: aliasing, frame-rate dips, and awkward camera modes make undocked handheld play notably rough.
A faithful, enjoyable throwback co-op brawler that mines Marvel's deep roster, with satisfying synergy attacks and a fun emphasis on team composition. It doesn't innovate much and the wild melee combat can feel a little soulless, while an unpredictable camera makes chaotic fights hard to track, especially in handheld mode. At its best played with friends, it earns a recommendation for Marvel devotees.
A solid, respectful entry in the series that doesn't top the first two games but is genuinely fun, especially in local co-op where seeing the Marvel roster team up shines. Combat is enjoyable if a bit simple and mindless solo, the art style looks great, and the challenge ramps up nicely. Held back by handheld frame-rate dips, an occasionally awkward camera, and dumb AI teammates, plus it's a shame it's Switch-only.
