A worthy entry in the series and a great action RPG, delivering an approachable but still demanding souls-like experience that pleases both newcomers and veterans. Standouts include fluid combat, deep customization with freely-swappable samurai and ninja styles and 14 weapon types, and a generous, time-respecting structure. The story is forgettable and boss design is inconsistent, with most bosses easier than usual, but the game is simply a joy to play.
Nioh 3 combines Team Ninja's sublime combat system with new open zone maps to deliver their greatest action experience, though the side activities lack originality and the port suffers from performance issues.
Nioh 3 maintains the franchise's essence with excellent combat and well-designed open world content, though it suffers from excessive enemy recycling and limited graphical improvements. The dual fighting style system is innovative and the gameplay is fun and addictive.
