A comprehensive remaster that brings a well-loved RPG to modern hardware with upgraded textures, better lighting, sharper models, faster load times, added voice dialogue, and a streamlined UI. The turn-based combat and creature-collecting remain a blast, with strong character customization and a fun museum mode, making it the best way to experience the original. Drawbacks include occasional fps stutter in battles, a slow-paced opening tutorial stretch, and heavy reliance on side quests to power up and progress.

A comfort-food RPG that holds up well, with Capcom putting genuine effort into the remaster: full voice acting, improved textures and soundtrack, plus added monsters and post-game content. The monstie-raising loop and rock-paper-scissors combat remain enjoyable, though the world is restrictive and dated in places and a little too linear for hardcore players. Strong value for a lengthy RPG.
