Buy on PC. Definitely buy, well worth it.

Objectively excellent game that's best on Switch, but PC version falls short due to World's shadow. Wire bug trivializes encounters, removing tension and fear central to Monster Hunter.

Wire bugs and Switch skills make combat fun and engrossing on PC.

Based on the demo, a hugely promising entry that performs well, mostly holding 30fps and looking crisp in handheld, with greatly improved character and armor detail and welcome verticality from the wire bug system. Gyroscopic aiming transforms ranged weapons, input latency is much better, and the wire bug and Wyvern riding mechanics feel tactical rather than overpowered. The main blemish is stuttering during cross-region online play.

Excellent MH entry with Rampage quests; final score 9/10.

Impressive Switch exclusive with fantastic visuals and engaging hunting gameplay, though multiplayer lacks voice chat.

A strongly favorable review that rates this entry above Monster Hunter World. The wirebug transforms both traversal and combat, monster riding and the improved Palamute/Palico buddies add depth, and rampage quests bring welcome variety alongside excellent boss design, audio, and an endearing village setting. The main downside is the Switch's technical ceiling, locking it to 1080p and sub-30fps, though the experience is deemed well worth its price.

Fantastic Monster Hunter experience on Switch with engaging combat, impressive verticality, and rewarding progression that justifies the steep learning curve.

Should absolutely play if you enjoyed World; feels like an evolution with great QoL improvements.
