6/10 on PC. PC issues drag down solid gameplay.

Strong seasonal map system but frustrating FOMO mechanics and overwrought narrative detract.

An exhilarating evolution of the series whose seamlessly connected, dynamic biomes create a genuinely living, reactive ecosystem, paired with superb monster design and elegantly refined combat. The aggressive streamlining cuts friction and makes battle flow purer, but it also skews the difficulty surprisingly low and saps some series personality, while the bloated 20-hour story tutorial drowns its fights in cutscenes. Even so, it feels like the culmination of two decades of work.

An incredible evolution of the Monster Hunter series that delivers excellent gameplay loop and story-driven experience with phenomenal hunting mechanics and world design. However, performance is inconsistent on PC, story co-op experience lacks seamlessness, and the seamless world doesn't reach its full potential.

Solid hunting with excellent monster variety but unoptimized PC and bland environments.

May only make iterative improvements, but thats all it really needed to do. Rogues gallery of creative monster designs keeps every encounter exciting — from the flatulent Congalala to the new Fier and cockatrice-like beasts. Suffers from performance issues, bland environments during the Phow period with muddy textures, and superfluous story, but combat remains riveting when face-to-face with monsters.

An incredibly complex, hilariously over-engineered hunting game with deep mechanical systems, creative weapon variety, vibrant ecosystem design, and exceptional cooperative multiplayer that rewards style and preparation as much as strategy. Max0r is completely absorbed by its chaotic depth despite (or because of) the absurdity.

Adam and Steven loved their hands-on preview of Monster Hunter Wilds, calling it exactly what they wanted - a significant evolution from World with stunning visuals, fluid controls, and game-changing features like dual weapon loadouts and on-map camps.

A solid Monster Hunter entry with excellent core gameplay mechanics and depth, but not revolutionary compared to previous titles and plagued by poor PC optimization. Good for franchise fans but has a steep learning curve.

An ambitious entry that delivers seamless open world design and improved accessibility. Marries past strengths with modern open world sensibilities and serves as an excellent entry point for new players.

  • Sensession😐 mixed

Monster Hunter Wilds successfully balances accessibility for newcomers with depth for veteran hunters. The improved gameplay mechanics, stunning visuals, and well-calibrated difficulty curve make it an engaging entry that will be remembered as a significant addition to the franchise.

  • Savun👍 positive

Monster Hunter Wilds is a very good game that builds well on World with rich gameplay variety and excellent monster design, though the creator prefers World's hunting mechanics and feels the new accessibility features like GPS mount and simplified monster discovery lose some of the appeal of the original franchise design.

  • quaz9😐 mixed

Monster Hunter Wilds is a game with its own unique, non-standardized character and engaging combat mechanics, but it's hampered by poor optimization, overly linear story design, and aggressive monetization. The creator recommends waiting for post-launch improvements before purchasing.

  • The Enemy😐 mixed

Monster Hunter Wilds is one of the best games in the franchise and the most accessible entry point yet, with significant improvements to single-player experience, quality-of-life features, and narrative depth while maintaining the core combat gameplay that defines the series.
