Exceptionally creative and beautiful adventure hindered by a tedious battle system.

Our analysis

Paper Mario: Color Splash offers charming humor and beautiful papercraft visuals, but tedious battles and excessive ease limit the enjoyment. It is fun for one playthrough, especially for completionists, with little desire to revisit it.

Our analysis

Superb writing, varied locations and an audiovisual masterpiece of a presentation carry Color Splash, and the paint mechanic ties it together. Its streamlined card combat is too easy and gives little reason to fight.
