A pleasing, well-crafted expansion that leans into exploration and storytelling over combat, with intricate ziggurat level design, plentiful secrets, tough puzzles, and a strong new archetype that anchors fresh build theorycrafting. The lore and environmental storytelling shine even if the ending feels abrupt and the new bosses lean gimmicky and underwhelming. At $9.99 with solid replayability, it's an easy buy and a fine example of what DLC should be.

A true Remnant sequel with meaningful improvements. Expanded archeytpe system with stacking perks creates engaging character customization. Solid boss battles and replayability through random elements and new character runs. Minor unfair enemy encounters, but overall a strong foundation with great potential for future updates.

GameSpot says Remnant 2 is exactly what you want from a sequel — expands and improves the first game's ideas. Core gameplay loop of rewarding combat, expanding skills, and procedural generation is addictive. Final realm has an unearned difficulty spike and story is still lackluster, but solid shooter experience throughout.
