Resident Evil 3

A good but lesser follow-up to the excellent Resident Evil 2 remake, with gorgeous visuals, strong animation, and fun over-the-top action that makes revisiting Raccoon City enjoyable. It's held back by being very short (six to seven hours), having few puzzles, reusing locations, and offering little meaningful replay value. The bundled Resistance multiplayer doesn't compensate, making it hard to justify at full price.

A disappointing misstep that feels smaller, stripped-down, and less ambitious than the RE2 remake. The visuals are stunning and PC performance is excellent, but the roughly five-hour single-player runs short, cuts large swaths of the original, drops the live-selection choices and multiple endings, and over-relies on unsatisfying action. Worst of all, the Nemesis is reduced to scripted boss encounters rather than a terrifying free-roaming hunter, making it feel like it should have been a cheap RE2 DLC.

A deeply disappointing follow-up to a beloved predecessor, gorgeous-looking but clunky and stripped of content. The bland levels lack the clever puzzles fans loved, the story is thin, the combat feels unresponsive and unfair, and the once-terrifying Nemesis is reduced to a scripted cutscene villain. At only about six hours for a full-price tag, it feels half-assed and like a cash grab, despite some genuinely tense, atmospheric moments. Not worth a buy.

A superb reimagining that complements the RE2 remake by prioritizing frantic action and momentum without sacrificing its horror roots. The evolving chemistry between Jill and Carlos anchors a compelling story, and the relentless Nemesis remains one of the series' most memorable creations. The chief drawback is its short five-to-six-hour length, though unlockable rewards and difficulties make repeat runs worthwhile.
