Resident Evil Zero

A worthwhile buy that brings the GameCube original to HD with a redone lighting model, choice of 4:3 or a surprisingly effective 16:9 panning presentation, and strong optimization across resolutions. The dual-character control and new alternate movement scheme modernize it well, though environmental sound is barren, the ambient music wears thin, and some jumbled room layouts and backtracking-heavy design can drag. It is creepy rather than scary, but enjoyable for returning fans and capable enough to win over newcomers.
