8 of 8Brings survival horror back to roots with immersive first-person perspective and excellent pacing.
Solid horror experience with effectively scary opening. Loses steam later as it shifts from horror to action. Good 60fps Switch 2 port.
Successful franchise reimagining with exceptional atmosphere and first-person horror.
A triumphant return to survival horror that nails a near-perfect level of challenge, with stunning detailed environments, phenomenal sound design, and masterful tension-building that makes every bullet and victory feel earned. A rough, frustrating opening eventually gives way to one of the most exhilarating and scary experiences in ages, helped by the immersive first-person shift and clever VHS-tape sequences. Drawbacks include thin enemy variety, a slightly dragging ending, and gutted replayability thanks to the limited-save Madhouse mode.
Excellent return to survival horror with great atmosphere, memorable boss battles, and terrifying Baker family, though later sections slow the pacing.
Strong return to classic RE formula with effective first-person horror, challenging combat, and excellent atmosphere. Short 10-hour campaign with replayability modes. Some weak puzzles late-game.

“An exceptional game that reinvented survival horror by deconstructing Resident Evil to its core elements and rebuilding it from first-person perspective, creating genuine dread through claustrophobia and dysfunctional family trauma with masterful character progression that transforms the player from helpless victim to empowered fighter.”
