2 of 2One of the all-time great first-person action games that still holds up 17 years on, with fantastic level design, authentic Star Wars atmosphere, and immersive music. The first few hours are brutally hard with wonky gunplay before you get a lightsaber, but once the free-flowing lightsaber combat and force powers open up it becomes a joy. Heartily recommended.
A bare-bones Switch port of the 2002 classic whose first four to five hours are a real test of patience, hampered by poor opening levels, awkward gunplay, brain-dead enemy AI, and obtuse puzzles. Once Kyle Katarn obtains his lightsaber and Force powers, however, it transforms into a deep and endlessly satisfying experience with the best lightsaber combat in any Star Wars game, backed by a surprisingly engaging story. The poor pacing and excised multiplayer hold it back, but the back half is well worth pushing through for.

“Civvie11 praises Jedi Knight II as a masterpiece of licensed game design that successfully delivers the fantasy of being a true Jedi Knight. The exceptional lightsaber combat, stellar level design, and Polish throughout make it a standout early-2000s title, despite a few dated design choices like forced stealth sections.”
