Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2

A masterful remake of two of the greatest arcade sports games ever, faithfully reworked with tightened controls, new moves, refreshed soundtracks, and a wider, more inclusive roster. The Switch edition runs at a rock-solid 30fps with crisp visuals, only conceding slightly muddy textures, long load times, and an occasionally unruly camera. The addictive, freeform skating remains as rewarding as ever, making it a highly recommended port.

An excellent Switch port of the remastered skateboarding classics that runs at a solid 30fps in both docked and handheld modes, with handheld play being a real treat. Some visual sacrifices show up in textures, anti-aliasing, and especially split-screen resolution, but the core gameplay and superb soundtrack carry it. The park builder, extensive content, and tight controls make it strong value.

A triumphant remaster that finally recaptures the magic of the series, with impeccably precise controls and a brilliantly designed trick system that is easy to pick up but deeply rewarding to master. The classic levels look great, the soundtrack is fantastic, and online multiplayer and create-a-park add lasting appeal. The dated, busywork-like objectives are a minor blemish, but the package leaves you wanting more.

A great return to form that revitalizes the first two games from the ground up, with gameplay that pleases hardcore fans yet stays accessible to casual players. The lovingly recreated levels, satisfying progression loop, and blend of classic and new music are highlights, with multiplayer and split screen intact. The create-a-skater mode is disappointingly limited and the level creator can feel glitchy.

Immensely enjoyable revamp of the classic Tony Hawk experience. Smart additions and engaging challenge system make it more than just a nostalgia trip. Load times and missing per-skater level goals are minor downsides.
