An easy recommendation and an ambitious, mostly successful update to the series, with snappy, hard-hitting combat and a new Heat mechanic that rewards aggressive, skill-based play. It is packed with offline content — a strong cinematic story mode, Arcade Quest, ghost battles, and excellent tutorials and practice tools that make it the most approachable entry yet. The big caveat at launch is broken online play, with crashes on PS5 and PC, so anyone primarily interested in online should wait.

Tekken 8 is a stunning fighting game that brings the series back with accessible gameplay for newcomers, incredible visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5, and a compelling story campaign.
