Even fifteen years on, this stands out as a fantastic shooter, carried by outstanding gunplay, intense audio, and widely destructible environments that reshape firefights. The varied globe-trotting campaign with strong vehicle handling and capable squad AI is a joy, despite regenerating health, an unremarkable story, no save system beyond checkpoints, and the loss of its once-great multiplayer servers. A reminder of how good the genre used to be.
A AAA shooter that earns its place among the top online titles, with the multiplayer standing as its strongest component. Refined perks, Conquest and Rush modes, and squad-based play encourage meaningful cooperation, all backed by the best dynamic and ambient sound design in a military shooter. The single-player is good but not excellent and feels like a step back, and early server outages marred the launch.
