Our analysis

A strong expansion whose standout addition is the deep and malleable Spiritborn class, alongside captivating new endgame content in the Undercity and Dark Citadel and a helpful mercenary system for solo players. Sweeping free changes to difficulty and leveling make the whole game feel fresh again. It is let down by a middling, awkward middle-chapter story that diminishes the stakes and ends on an unearned tease.

Our analysis

An excellent expansion with a fantastic new Spirit Born class, engaging campaign continuation, and quality of life improvements. The Nantu region could have felt more unique, and the mercenary system needs some tweaking, but overall it's a worthy adventure and great reason to return to Sanctuary.
