Our analysis

A divided verdict: as a fun real-time strategy game for newcomers it holds up, with seven campaigns, sixty missions, varied factions, hero units and good map and story design, plus a graphical facelift. But it falls far short of the promised reimagining, stripping out custom campaigns, leaderboards, clans and profiles, forcing classic players onto the new infrastructure, and downgrading the once-stunning Culling of Stratholme cinematic. Animations feel off and optimization is shaky.
