Our analysis
Re-release that holds up incredibly well with memorable characters and strong story. Now on PS5.
Our analysis
A recommended remaster of the original Gears of War for newcomers and nostalgia seekers: it ran flawlessly, with fun enemies, solid weighty gunplay and funny dialogue. Gripes are weak teammate AI, a co-op teleport tether, no local co-op or multiplayer bots, and a 40-quid price.
Our analysis
Excellent campaign with stunning graphics and great co-op gameplay, but severely hampered by broken multiplayer mechanics, poor weapon balance, lag issues, and inconsistent game design that frustrates veteran players.

A solid remaster of the classic co-op shooter that holds up reasonably well despite showing its 2006 design limitations. The simple, straightforward gameplay and strong co-op mechanics make it a fun experience to share with a friend.
