Mass Effect 2

A superb sequel that earns the highest praise, retaining the original's smart writing and humor while layering in customizable armor, a far more interactive galaxy map, strong characters, and improved combat. It stops just short of perfection due to nagging party AI, restrictive class rules, and the divisive online-pass system, but it remains a premium franchise entry worth owning.

Streamlined sequel with modernized shooter combat. Inventory + Mako gone; mining replacement tedious. Squad and moral choices remain compelling.
