A damn good, tense, and engaging conclusion that nails the feeling of a galaxy consumed by total war, with improved combat, returning characters, and top-notch acting and soundtrack. It is undermined by a reduced and less interesting squad, a broken quest-tracking system, a continued drift away from RPG elements, and aggressive DLC and microtransaction practices. The infamous final ten minutes nearly ruin the franchise, though it still earns high marks overall.
