One of the most unique and impressive games in recent memory on Switch, this clever, utterly absorbing medieval murder mystery sells its setting through meticulous historical accuracy, a gorgeous illuminated-manuscript art style, and inventive character-specific fonts. Choice-driven conversations and selectable backgrounds give roughly 20 hours of play strong replay value. The dense dialogue and easy-to-get-lost map navigation in early hours are minor drawbacks, but the portable Switch version is a superb way to experience it.

A unique, true-to-itself visual-novel-style game that won't be for everyone but is well worth a Game Pass try. The 15th-century murder mystery is a worthwhile, satisfying hook, with sharp writing, a clever day-segmented investigation system, beautiful art, and authentic period font work. It assumes some historical knowledge going in, and the lack of voice acting and music plus missing quality-of-life features like a text log hold it back.
