Pillars of Eternity

A fantastic spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale, with outstanding art direction, brilliant sound design, and a superb soundtrack. The standout is a near-peerless attribute and class system with deep synergy and seemingly no dead-end builds, plus an engrossing stronghold meta-game and a deep, adult story. Flaws include frustratingly tight pathing in some areas, a confusing enchantment system, and inconsistent audio continuity, but it's an emphatic must-buy for RPG fans.
