The definitive version of a magnificent and memorable JRPG, with a deep, three-dimensional cast and a 100-plus-hour story that fully justifies its length through excellent pacing. The social link system and thoughtful, exploitable turn-based combat interlock superbly, and the stylish presentation, standout soundtrack, and excellent voice acting shine. The Switch port holds up well despite softer textures, making it required reading for RPG fans, though prior players may hesitate to double dip at full price.
