A timeless, charming adventure and one of the series' finest entries, where flashy sword combat, devious dungeons, and a delightful narrative shine through a kooky, expressive world. The cel-shaded art holds up beautifully and the GameCube original remains hugely enjoyable. The slow sailing and an annoying late-game fetch quest are minor hang-ups in an otherwise masterful, near-best pre-Breath of the Wild Zelda.
Wind Waker's charming cel-shaded aesthetics and open-ocean exploration endure despite tedious sailing mechanics, repetitive music, and unfixed balance issues.
