A standalone XCOM spin-off whose excellent turn-based tactical combat is undercut by its tone and presentation. The breach mechanic, mixed human-and-alien squads, and combo-driven fights are great fun, and the graphics and sound are strong. But the levels feel repetitive and samey, and the flippant, immersion-breaking character writing and voice acting ruin the atmosphere. Worth it only on a steep discount.
