Assassin's Creed Odyssey has excellent narrative design and combat improvements but suffers from excessive bloat, repetitive mission structure, and...
A pretty good, content-rich open-world RPG that pleasantly surprises and earns a recommendation for both RPG and Assassin's Creed fans. Standout strengths include the genuinely living, persistent Conquest battles, the mercenary bounty system, choice-based consequences, and a huge map with hundreds of hours of content. Weaknesses are the level-bracket balancing that can feel constricting, exploitative XP-booster microtransactions, and some frustrating glitches.
Thumbed up despite despicable helix points for XP. Great game underneath the exploitative monetization once you get past it. Worth playing.
Fextralife: hundreds of hours for Assassin's Creed formula fans; improves on Origins RPG elements.
One of the best entries in the franchise with fresh mechanics, engrossing naval exploration, and meaningful choices that tie the experience together.
