Our analysis

A lazy, deeply disappointing sequel that strips out content rather than adding it, fails to address any of the original's core problems, and locks players behind intrusive phone-number requirements. The shift to 5v5 with one tank makes matches even more steamroll-heavy, hero reworks leave characters feeling weaker, and the promised co-op mode was delayed entirely. Most disappointing release of the year.

Our analysis

As a video game it is a genuinely fun and familiar hero shooter, with sharp new heroes, a satisfying Push mode, and a fairer cosmetics path via the battle pass. But it largely fails as a sequel, offering little more than a fresh coat of paint with the promised PvE campaign pushed off to a later date.

Our analysis

Essentially a major update to the original hero shooter, with a free-to-play model, a shift from 6v6 to 5v5 that speeds up fights and retunes tanks, plus new heroes, maps and the push mode. The core gameplay stays as fun as ever and feels very familiar, though the battle pass introduces grind and cosmetic costs. The delayed PvE content remains an intriguing unknown, but even on the PvP side it marks a strong return.

Our analysis

The shift to 5v5 makes matches feel faster, more aggressive and more controlled, and additions like the new Push mode, the ping system, and standout hero Kiriko are welcome. The launch, however, was rough with heavy server issues and a DDoS attack, the free-to-play monetization and battle pass grind are annoying, and onboarding hurdles like the phone-number requirement frustrate new players.

Our analysis

Fantastic update to the multiplayer with excellent new heroes (Sojourn, Junker Queen, Kiriko) — but as a sequel it stumbles, adding new friction where there previously was none.
