The free Switch 2 Anniversary Edition upgrade is a meaningful step up, adding DLSS-driven 4K output, sharper textures and foliage, much faster load times, and detailed mouse-mode support. It still targets only 30fps with no performance mode, suffers noticeable mouse input latency, and has a jarring water-surface rendering bug, but as a no-charge enhancement it is a welcome and recommendable update.

Free survival mode and farming content outshine creation club DLC; worthwhile for console players.

Visual improvements and complete package with DLC, but fundamentally same game. Recommended only for those who never finished original. Not essential for veterans.

A masterpiece that lives up to and surpasses its hype, refining the Elder Scrolls formula into the quintessential Western RPG. The reworked leveling and perk system, deep crafting and enchanting, dynamic dragon encounters, and vastly improved dual-wield combat let players forge their own organic adventures with real freedom. Minor gripes include weak follower AI, a dated character creator, and occasional bugs, but none meaningfully detract from a vast, immersive world backed by a superb soundtrack.
