Our analysis
Yakuza 5 is a massive, ambitious game with incredible highs in character writing and storytelling, particularly in the first and fifth chapters, but struggles with inconsistent pacing and uneven narrative execution across its middle sections. Despite tedious stretches and some underserved characters, the game's exploration of dreams as a thematic centerpiece offers genuine depth and emotional resonance.
