Gorgeous remake with excellent design but 30fps aliasing and frame drops hold it back.
Our analysis
A surprisingly enjoyable brawler with a slow-starting but ultimately gripping clan-war story, excellent native-language voice acting, and roughly 30 hours of content. The standout is the food-based leveling system tied to exploration rather than story progression, plus hilarious, weapon-everything combat. Downsides include overly long cutscenes, immersion-breaking bugs (vanishing NPCs, stiff animations), and some pointless minigames, but it's a strong value worth buying.
Our analysis
A solid remake that stands as a high point for the series, with engaging, weighty combat as the Dragon of Dojima, a dramatic revenge-driven plot, and rewarding sub-stories that range from comedic to disturbing. The gorgeous Dragon Engine visuals and a separate Goro Majima campaign add value. The main plot can feel stretched thin at points and some optional activities become a grind, but it remains another strong addition to the franchise.

Our analysis
A worst rendition of the original Yakuza 2 with gameplay that drags it down. The remake makes artistic choices that damage the original's signature moments while introducing less entertaining gameplay problems like an overpowered Block Breaker.
