A resounding disappointment that repeats nearly every failing of the base game while adding new insults. The campaign squanders Osiris's lore with a one-dimensional story, the Infinite Forest is woefully designed shooting-fish-in-a-barrel content, and new weapons are re-skins gated behind absurd grinds. Loot-box monetization, XP throttling, and locking the previously free heroic strikes behind a paywall mark a fundamental breach of trust that ends any goodwill toward Bungie.

A merely okay expansion that feels more like extra content than a true add-on. The story setting around the infinite forest is intriguing but plays out mediocre and repetitive, the two new strikes are too easy, and the new explorable Mercury is small and empty. Worth it only for players still hooked on Destiny 2, and probably not enough to pull lapsed players back.
