A meaningful step up for Destiny's single-player content, with the welcome 2.0 loot, experience, and interface overhauls plus genuinely enjoyable story missions and a huge amount of post-campaign content. Excellent sound and strong returning voice talent (Nathan Fillion, Lance Reddick) help, though the writing is still weak. Repeated locations, recycled glassy enemy designs, and a tedious bullet-sponge Oryx boss fight drag it down, landing it as worthwhile mainly for players invested beyond just the campaign.
