Resident Evil

A bizarre, weird classic worth playing today for its experimental charm, jaw-dropping pre-rendered 2002 visuals, and an oppressive horror atmosphere that's terrifying yet unintentionally hilarious. The flip side is some of the most outdated gameplay imaginable: tank controls, punishing fixed cameras, endless door cutscenes, scarce ammo, and a maddening limited inventory that forces constant backtracking. The dated design makes it less fun but actually scarier than modern games.
